Welcome to another great sound project, the Wusik Analog Realms Sound Collection. For this project, I plan to sample sounds using digital sources that I will run through analog devices and re-sample back into single WAV or multi-sample SFZ formats.
The ETA is late December, for Volume 1, but if things go smooth, I may be able to deliver it sooner. The plan is to have 3 to 4 volumes in total. Here you are ordering all volumes.
I will post on Wusik's FB Page on the status of things. The idea is to order a good mixer, microphones, and start doing DIY audio experiments. The next step is to get analog pedals, tape machines, and even FM receivers and transceivers to manipulate the audio.
Depending on how the project goes, I may be able to get analog synths too, but that's a final thing and will mainly depend on the success of the PreOrders. ;-)
PreOrder the project today to help me out getting all the hardware required to start.
EDIT: I'm also adding to the project (only for this $ 19.95 ALL Volumes options) two new plugins:
1) Wusik XVM - a convolution reverb plugin that features multi cross-fade impulses, using much less CPU compared to Wusik XV. This will be a new plugin and will be included with the Analog Realms PreOrder. As the new impulses will be recorded from live analog sources. Imagine that the impulse sound is constantly moving from one to another, or from a selection of multiple sounds. EG: 8 reverb sounds that have a different tail or just different EQ. Most likely it will be either 4 or 8 impulses selection, and 2 LFOs that will move from one to another. And all this using just one convolution engine. Wusik XV uses multiple engines to do the same thing. Here we are trying to do with less CPU resources, as Wusik XV can use a lot of CPU in some situations.
2) Wusik SPX - a new type of Sound Playback plugin with advanced features such as time-stretching, multi-channel, and round-robin multi-sample sounds. Again, this will be a new plugin and will be included with the Analog Realms PreOrder. We are not talking about a complete product such as Wusik Station X, but rather something more straightforward that only plays ".WSPX sounds". Easy to load, light on CPU and resources. The whole project will be source-available, not free, so I won't use the name open-source as this would make people think it's fully free. It won't be. The idea is to create a new sound format so other people can use it and license the code to include in anything they want.
PreOrdering this $ 19.95 ALL Volumes option will get you all 3 products: Wusik Analog Realms Sound Collection, Wusik XVM, and Wusik SPX. Pre Ordering will help me get all the hardware required to do the new sampling.
"I'm William Kalfelz - aka Wusik - and I started this project several years ago (2001 to be more exact). Wusik Station (now in version 9) is a fantastic synth and my leading product. Wusik 8008, my second major release, is a sample playback modular synth featuring an easy-to-use interface. My other products include a great VST/AU sequencer/host called Wusik SQ200 and a chainer called Wusik P2000. I also work (as a hobby) with Arduino DIY based projects at Beat707.com. And some games at DashDotGames.com. Finally, if you want to know more about me, you can watch this video where I talk about myself and discuss Bipolar Disorder."
"When I created Wusik (20 years ago), I wanted a new community that would work with me on new products. Just like I had with my previous projects. So far it has worked great. But sadly, in the last few years, things started to fade, as the competition got stronger, and I got weaker. Not to mention all the stupid mistakes I made before I was diagnosed as Bipolar (with multiple personality disorder) and really started to be a better person. More stable. Stronger. My main focus, since the start, nearly 30 years ago, with all the projects that I created. Was to MAKE MUSIC. But some people think it annoying that I promote my music on Wusik Channels. Well, let's make one thing clear, this was the idea from the start. People would listen to my music and I would listen and promote their music too. But, this also got weaker over the past few years. Some people also complain that my GUIs look ugly, but I haven't found anyone to work with me on those again. And I can't hire a professional right now. You know, the pandemic got things a bit weird for everybody. Anyway, I just wanted to explain why I promote my music so much. My plan is to create a place where we can all be heard, but I can't right now. If you have some free time, please, check out my latest songs visiting my music site below.
And if you can contribute/donate to my music and also my other free projects, use any of the links below.
As for me, I'm working hard on Wusik. As I said before, I released several smaller projects just to keep me afloat. Now I'm working on Wusik Station X which is a BIG thing for me. I released a video where I explain better why it has been so far for me to finish it and the current state of the code. Cheers, WilliamK"
